August 18: Voice of the Voiceless: International Day of Quds

Announcement from Muslims for Human Rights (Vancouver):

In the name of God, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadhan has been allocated as a day of solidarity with the oppressed worldwide. This year, we hope to make the International Day of Quds a day in which the people of Vancouver show their solidarity with the oppressed worldwide. We hope you will join us Saturday August 18th, 2012 at the Vancouver Art Gallery in downtown Vancouver (750 Hornby Street  Vancouver, BC V6Z 2H7) at 3:00pm.

This year’s theme for the International Day of Quds is “Voices of the Voiceless”, and we will, InshAllah, be focusing on the plights of those around the world who do not have a voice in the mainstream media. This will include the plights of those in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Palestine. We hope that you will help us in spreading the word on these events with our three multilingual posters, available in English, Arabic, and Farsi.  The facebook event can be accessed here.
