Take Action: Stand Against Carleton’s Apartheid Dinner!

Please join us to support Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA) at Carleton University in Ottawa on their campaign to protest Carleton’s support of the Jewish National Fund‘s fundraising gala dinner. Carleton University is listed as a “proud sponsor” of the event and the president of Carleton will be a co-chair.

SAIA-Carleton has made a detailed website outlining its concerns about this event and there is a letter that people can send in to Carleton calling on it to withdraw its support and for the president to step-down as co-chair. Carleton’s support of the JNF is particularly disturbing given the president’s refusal to condemn the bombing of the Islamic University in Gaza during Operation Castlead because she did not wish to “take sides”.

The JNF was instrumental in the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in the 1948 Nakba, and to this day continues its massive projects of control of Palestinian land for the benefit of the apartheid state of Israel. The JNF’s Canada Park covers the remains of the Palestinian villages Imwas, Yalu, and Beit Nuba, which the Israeli army depopulated and razed on the explicit orders of the then Chief-of-Staff, General Yitzhak Rabin, in the course of the 1967 war.
Please help by sending a letter – it’s really easy, all you need to do is copy and paste! Folks in Ottawa are working hard to get lots of people mobilized and they could really use help from us here. The website is http://carletonsapartheiddinner.weebly.com/index.html

Thank you for your support!
