The Boycott Israeli Apartheid Campaign presents an evening of information and discussion focused on the Gaza Strip. On January 10, freelance journalist Jon Elmer will provide an update on the current dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. We will also be screening “Occupation 101”, which explores the historical context and roots of the siege including Israel’s so-called “withdrawal” from the Gaza Strip in 2005. “Occupation 101” is a powerful documentary unlike any other film on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It features first-hand on-the-ground experiences from leading Middle East peace activists, journalists, scholars, religious leaders and humanitarian workers whose voices have too often been suppressed in North American media outlets.
